If 2020 were a scented candle, it would be a dumpster-fire.
Let’s make it right - let’s turn last year’s epic fails into some
Dam Good Initiatives.
Our goal this year is to give back.
We want to help those in need, support our awesome community, and provide awareness to Canadian organizations that, frankly, don’t suck!
Check back each month to see how we're making this year a heck of a lot better!
We adopted a Bieber...sorry, we meant Beaver from World Wildlife Fund Canada and we couldn’t be happier. He’s a loving, sweet, iconic Canadian animal and we are thrilled to take part in such an amazing organization. We are helping to conserve wildlife for future generations; does it get any better than that? The downfall: he doesn’t sing quite as well as the legendary J-Biebs. BUT, he is just as handsome and charming :)
SOCKS FOR THE HOMELESS
Montreal has the highest concentration of homeless people in Quebec. We can’t just sit back as this number grows. Socks are the most requested item for the homeless... and we have plenty of socks! This month we donated over 360 pairs across the city. We are proud to help this cause, and vow to continue this practice a lot more in the future.
THERE IS ONLY ONE PLANET EARTH
"There are no passengers on Spaceship Earth. We are all crew." (Marshall McLuhan).
We're doing our part for the planet!
As of March 2021, all orders placed on our website will be carbon-neutral. We’re working with PACHAMA to minimize our carbon footprint.
MENTAL HEALTH IS HEALTH. NO EXCEPTIONS
In any given year, 1 in 5 Canadians will experience a mental health problem. This year didn’t make that any easier - surviving a global pandemic has been, and continues to be, hard on everyone’s daily living & self-care.
The best way to help and end the stigma? TALK ABOUT IT. Maybe over a Poutine or a Two-Four. No matter how or where, it’s important to start there. Plus, continue to help make a change by donating to our long-time partner, The RCMP Foundation.Their initiative this year focuses on mental health.
Let’s talk about mental health and #stopthestigma.
DONATIONS! DONATIONS! DONATIONS!
2020: The year of the unfortunate and unforeseen pandemic. A global catastrophe that no one saw coming.
2021: The year we all did our part to stay safe and stand together. In turn, kids in Montreal are able to return to camp this Summer.
This year, Main and Local produced thousands of masks, including children’s masks. And this month, we were lucky enough to be able to donate a large portion of these to the campers of Camp B’nai Brith. Have a healthy and safe summer!
Is there a Charity or Organization that you would like us to support?
Simply email us at: email@example.com We would be happy to consider it. Nothing is too big or too small!
